Artists Circle under the Artists Welfare Trust is not a mere gallery for selling drawings and paintings for lucre, rather it is an organization that inspires artists of different streams, poets, scholars, and cultural activists to come together in an ever widening creative circle, and rise to to the crescendo in the perspective of the contemporaneous reality.

Onwards from the moment of its existence in April 2003, this organization relentlessly brought about multifarious exhibitions, workshops, seminars and cultural events under the guidance of Mrs. Krishna Bhattacharya and the support of the active advisory committee.

Its location in the heart of the historical city of Kolkata, meeting point of seven important connectors, on the ground floor of an ancient villa- at 46,Circus Avenue, makes it even more important today, since the place thrive with art and artists.

The Artists Welfare trust is exempted from tax under section 80 G of income tax act.

  20th April 2003-“tryst with the river  
  Exhibition of works by a group of artists on “tryst with the river”(Nadir Sange Dekha) organized by Sea Explorer’s association. The show was inaugurated by Soumitra Chatterjee on 20th April 2003.  
  15 –30th June -2003 - Summer Interlude  
  Exhibition of 18 senior artists of Bengal – in a Summer Interlude from 15 June 2003 to 30th June. Minister Md. Salim inaugurated the show.  
  2nd Aug 2003- Chabi and Kabita  
  Chabi and Kabita – a soiree with the gathering of poets and artists on 2nd Aug 2003

•      Scholarships for meritorious postgraduate students;
•      Medical insurance coverage, and medical aid to needy artists;
•      Medical support shall be extended to terminally ill artists
